Hello darlings so this past weekend I was lucky enough to be
given the opportunity that most girls would kill for, to work backstage at SA
A/W Menswear. It was definitely an experience I would not have traded for
anything in the world.
The collections were fabulous. The most notable collections
that left a distinct mark in my mind would be those of Quiteria,
ThrowAwayTwenty, Richard Hoy, XM Creations and Masa Mara. These collections
were each great in their own way because they forced the fashion-lover who
attended the event to think consciously about the breakdown of the barriers
that used to restrict the consumer about what would be considered ‘suitable’
for men to wear.

The majority of the shows saw the male models wearing
skirts, feathers and carrying bags. This is a sign that currently anything goes
when it comes to menswear. This is something I aim to fully embrace especially
because I am proud to say that the fashion crowd at the event fully inspired me
to let go of my own personal inhibitions when it comes to the way that I
embrace fashion.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Simon and Deiner who
presented me with the fabulous opportunity to work at the event. I must say
that the event was professionally put together. They definently deserve the
title of one of the biggest fashion show production company in South Africa.
