This week's entertainment tea:

1: Kuli Robert's death:

I believe that the local entertainment has lost one of its greatest gems, the late Nomakula 'Kuli 'Roberts. The famed entertainment journalist passed away on Wednesday evening after collapsing on the set of a new show. The tragic news was confirmed by her family on Thursday by her sister, actress Hlubi Mboya-Arnold released a statement stating; " It is with profound regret and sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our dear daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt Nomakula 'Kuli' Roberts. She passed away late last night (10th February) in Johannesburg.

Kuli Roberts was most known for her work on various shows such as What Not to Wear, which was when I was first exposed to her, and other shows such as Trending SA. The groundwork of her career was established when she was a columnist for publications such as Fairlady and City Press. Kuli has also published a book titled, "Siren".

I was personally touched by her death because she was one of the reasons why I have always been drawn to entertainment commentary. The legacy she leaves behind is one of ''saying it like you mean it". I do hope that we can learn from the great lessons that she left behind throughout her stellar career.

2: Jub-Jub's "I do not want to do it but I have to"apology:

So the host of popular show Uyajola 99 Molemo Maarohanye most famously known as Jub-Jub has finally issued a very public apology to the mother of his child, notable songstress Kelly Khumalo for the defamatory comments that he made last year during an interview on Podcast and Chill which is hosted by infamous shock jock, 'MacG'.

The claims made by Jub-Jub insinuated that Kelly had allegedly used muti on him whilst he was still in a relationship with actress Amanda Du Pont. The musician/television personality stated further that he hopes that he can mend the broken relationship that he has with Kelly Khumalo for the sake of their son, Christian.

The apology tour was then extended to South African women, this was done in regards to the allegations made by Amanda Du Pont that Jub-Jub was allegedly abusive towards her during their relationship. The actress is not the only woman who has come forward with such claims. The public apology then took an awkward turn when Jub-Jub stated that he was not legally forced to apologize to the individuals that he had offended to be reinstated as the host of Uyajola 99 after being suspended from the show for the controversy regarding the interview. I think that this was the case and motivation behind the apology tour.

3. The secret behind Kimnye's divorce was finally revealed and Kanye's response.

TThe best-kept secret of 2021 has finally been revealed and this was why Kim Kardashian formally Kim Kardashian-West had filed for divorce from Kanye Ýe West. This was revealed in her interview in the latest issue of Vogue. The famed reality star stated she is starting to make decisions that she feels will benefit her, including her divorce from the rapper.

This can be interpreted in many ways but the obvious conclusion is that she stayed in the marriage for the benefit of other people. The rapper then responded to the claim by stating that he hopes that God can bring back his family. The divorce between Kimnye had started to get messy with both issuing damaging claims against one another even though both are in 'happy' relationships.

Big Brother Mzansi Update

I must say I never imagined myself being a fan of the Big Brother franchise but I must say I am becoming a fan of the latest season of the South African edition. I like many viewers have my favorites such as Zino and Sis Tamara amongst others. I however am not pleased with the speed that the show is moving. Strategies are being played out under the disguise of being kumbaya with each other.

I am sad to say that I sense that one of my favorites, Zino will be in the bottom three this Sunday and will most likely be voted off with Acacia who is making more enemies than friends in the house. The long-standing tradition of romantic sparks flying between the housemates is being continued but whether this is part of their different strategies guess we will just have to wait and see.

Real Housewives update:

Well well well. I must say when I finished watching the first season of Real Housewives of Durban, I honestly did not think that they would be able to outdo the first season but the first episode of the season has me thinking that this season wigs and shade will be in the air. I am a little behind a couple of episodes but believe me I will catch up and I will post my reviews on this platform.

I am very impressed with the remaining ladies from last season as this season they are very honest in their confessionals in comparison to last season. I was very underwhelmed with Londie London who is joining the cast but I found a breath of fresh air in Jojo. I am however optimistic that they will bring the fire as the season goes on.

The 'revolt' against Beyonce

It is no secret that the release of a Beyonce album whether it is pre-announced or a surprise drop is bound to get the masses talking. The water-cooler talk can be both positive or negative.  This is seemingly the case with the upcoming release of the second act, Cowboy Carter  in the three act Renaissance series that Beyonce has gifted us with. The alternative album cover. Image via X @ColumbiaRecords The Cowboy Carter album sees the reigning queen of music exploring a genre which is not new within her discography and that is country music. This innovative move has sparked praise and criticism alike. The argument brought forward by the critics, most recently Azealia Banks, who is known for her very outspoken opinion, is that Beyonce is using 'victim mentality' to promote the album and to enter a market that will never embrace her. It can be said that her foray into country music has not been greatly welcomed by the listeners of the genre.  This resulted

REAL HOUSEWIVES OF DURBAN STATE OF AFFAIRS

The fourth season of The Real Housewives of Durban has not failed to deliver drama-filled episodes. The Durban based segment of the Real Housewives franchise is definitely in the frontrunner to be considered the leading African installment. The show has been getting viewers talking since it made its debut in 2021 and every season has delivered when it came to shade, drama and of course fabulous fashion. We are currently on episode 11 of the fourth season and there is much to dissect regarding the happenings of this season. 1. The ladies divided We left the group at the end of season 3 divided between Team Sorisha (Sorisha, Maria, Slee and Annie) and Team Nonku (Nonku & Jojo). The new season introduced three more ladies to the mix of the already divided circle. The new additions easily fitted into the group where most of them naturally gravitated towards the resident Queen B, I mean Sorisha. This was without the exception of Zama who ironically had been introduced to the group by S
