In a perfect world when asked ‘Why do you watch reality television shows’ we might be quick to say we watch those shows because of the insights into the different lives and cultures of the cast members and so forth but if we are honest, it is the ongoing drama and conflict that has us tuning in to every episode of that specific shows. The fourth season of The Real Housewives of Durban has not failed to deliver drama-filled episodes. The Durban based segment of the Real Housewives franchise is definitely in the frontrunner to be considered the leading African installment. The show has been getting viewers talking since it made its debut in 2021 and every season has delivered when it came to shade, drama and of course fabulous fashion. We are currently on episode 11 of the fourth season and there is much to dissect regarding the happenings of this season. 1. The ladies divided We left the group at the end of season 3 divided between Team Sorisha (Sorisha, Maria, Slee and Annie) and Team Nonku (Nonku & Jojo). The new season introduced three more ladies to the mix of the already divided circle. It is no secret that the release of a Beyonce album whether it is pre-announced or a surprise drop is bound to get the masses talking.The water-cooler talk can be both positive or negative.  This is seemingly the case with the upcoming release of the second act, Cowboy Carter  in the three act Renaissance series that Beyonce has gifted us with. This innovative move has sparked praise and criticism alike. The argument brought forward by the critics, most recently Azealia Banks, who is known for her very outspoken opinion, is that Beyonce is using 'victim mentality' to promote the album and to enter a market that will never embrace her. So Shondaland and Netflix have finally decided to release the trailer for the much anticipated Bridgerton prequel revolving around the origins of one of the show’s beloved character, Queen Charlotte and her marriage with King George. The trailer for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Love Story gave all the titilating snippets that one could have asked for as we see how the king and queen met (which was through an arranged marriage). We also get to see the turbulent times during the royal marriage as Charlotte had to adjust to the English court as she was originally from Germany and their crowning. The statement from the studio and streaming service did state that Lady Bridgerton and Lady Danbury will also be included in the show. The trailer does show a younger Lady Danbury (excellent casting btw) however we do not get a glimpse of Lady Bridgerton. I will definitely be watching when the show premieres on Netflix on 4 May.   So I must say when I first heard of the Real Friends of WeHo (West Hollywood) I was a little hesitant as I thought it would just be another duplication of all the reality shows that we already have but the difference would be that instead of successful women it would be a group of successful gay men. That should have been the indicator that I had gathered the wrong conclusion of the show before even watching it, which is something that we all do especially on social media. Boy was I wrong, the show is the type of reality content that I have been praying for, it is basically Real Housewives (which I adore) with just members of my community. The biggest standout factor for from the show was the diversity of its cast. The show featured members of the LGBTQIA who are white, black and latin.
